The Colby College Museum of Art’s Lunder Institute for American Art has invited six prominent art institutions across the nation to respond to this question as part of its new initiative, Lunder Institute @. Starting in February 2024, the de Young Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco will host the first Lunder Institute @ program, followed by The Broad in Los Angeles, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Arkansas, the Addison Gallery of American Art at Phillips Academy, Andover, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and finally, the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City.

Fellowship at the Getty Research Institute dedicated to the Annual Theme: REPAIR

For 2025–2026, Getty invites scholars and arts professionals to apply for a residential fellowship on the topic of repair, a theme that bridges time periods, world geographies, and professional practices. Situated between the forces of creation and destruction, the act of repair can be deeply transformative, with the potential to heal, alter, and renew the material environment. Scholars are asked to think critically about repair, questioning interpretive assessments about the ideal state of any object or site, in addition to querying what constitutes damage or whether to repair the ruined or the broken. Beyond such physical interventions, art and sites of commemoration are often mobilized to heal a fractured social fabric. Indeed, art itself may be offered as reparation to address past wrongs or to recuperate loss. The issue of repair has deep bearing for the arts, conceived in the broadest sense, and especially for institutions that aim to preserve and share global cultural heritage.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world’s finest museums, seeks an Educator in Charge for Academic and Research Programs. In a typical year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met or the Museum) hosts over 100 local, national, and international fellows, interns, and visiting scholars and practitioners, who become an enduring part of The Met’s world-class, vibrant academic community of curators, scientists, educators, technicians, and other experts. This leader will engage with both local, and global contexts in new and exciting ways in the next chapter for the Education Department, guided by The Met’s overall Vision 2025.

McMullan Academic Year Intern

The 2024/25 McMullan Internship offers an aspiring museum professional the opportunity to explore and contribute to a range of activities within the area of Creative Spaces, a division of the Ryan Learning Center. The Creative Spaces team designs learning installations and multigenerational and family artmaking programs for visitors to the Ryan Learning Center. This internship role will support daily facilitation in the Art Exchange, our public drop-in space for family and multigenerational visitors; contribute to preparation of art-making materials; assist with live programs; and support the installation of educational displays.
